For DVAM, TCFV released its report titled Honoring Texas Victims: Family Violence Victims in 2010. This report captures the narratives of the 142 women murdered in 2010.  It also analyzes key factors from these deaths. This analysis propels us to learn as much as possible about these deaths to further inform our work and the work of our partners.  This is a small snapshot of data the report highlights:

  • Our youngest victims: Three 17 year old high school students
  • Our eldest victims: 78 years of age
  • Murder suicide cases increased by 42
  • Number of women killed increased from 111 (2009) to 142 (2010)
