The Director of Development (DOD) is responsible for managing extensive development efforts in the areas of major gifts, other individual giving, events and corporate and in-kind donations. The DOD actively fundraises with individual donors while also supervising the development team.
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a Bachelor degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience that includes substantive development work.
Understanding of the issues surrounding child abuse and neglect preferred.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Minimum of 2 years of supervision experience.
Must show demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for a diverse number of projects and complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word and Excel) and experience in using Sage or similar fundraising management software.
