Promoting Innovative Prevention Strategies
Community Engagement
Involving community members at every level is key to preventing domestic violence and creating safe and healthy communities. TCFV seeks to learn and share information about best practices in engaging communities for prevention.
In order to build a strong knowledge base about effective community engagement strategies, TCFV’s Grassroots Microgrant Project has supported grassroots organizations in piloting innovative community-based domestic violence prevention efforts.

Engaging Men and Boys
The Men’s Nonviolence Project (MNP) seeks to encourage men to take an active role in ending men’s violence against women. MNP provides information, resources, and connections to inspire and support the involvement of men and boys in preventing domestic violence and promoting healthy communities.
MNP programming includes the MNP website, the MNP listserv, the Fathers’ Stand Against Family Violence, and specialized technical assistance and training.
Please contact TCFV if you have questions or suggestions regarding MNP’s website, listserv, or other MNP programming.
Communities of Faith Initiative
Domestic violence impacts people of all religions and faith traditions. Faith communities can play an integral leadership role in creating an environment that cultivates communities wherein domestic violence is not tolerated.
The Communities of Faith Initiative works with faith leaders and domestic violence advocates across the state to foster positive social norms and primary prevention strategies that build on the value and importance of faith in the lives of many Texans. For more information on TCFV’s Communities of Faith Initiative, please contact TCFV.
