HEALTH CARES ABOUT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE –

Wednesday, October 9, 2013

This free event in Austin focuses on the intersections between women’s health and intimate partner violence. This will be an informative opportunity with great networking potential. Lunch will be provided. Wednesday, October 9th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 1165 Angelina St, Austin, TX 78702 ( EMAIL RSVP IS NECESSARY — Email Raman Sandhu at TCFV.)

Health care providers, particularly those that focus on women’s health issues, play a critical role in delivering accurate information that affects women’s choices and can even promote the use of interventions. Relationships play a pivotal role in women’s health. A victim of intimate partner violence may experience a variety of negative health outcomes, including issues that could jeopardize a pregnancy, babies, and children that may be exposed to violence. Health Cares About Domestic Violence Day is a nationally recognized awareness-raising day that is sponsored by Futures Without Violence. If you have any questions, please contact Surabhi Kukke or Krista Del Gallo.
