Education and Event Coordinator (Huntsville)

SAAFE House is hiring an Education and Event Coordinator. Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in a communication, public relations, or mental health related field and/or two years work/volunteer experience in social services, or a combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities; knowledge about domestic violence and sexual abuse preferred; Must have reliable transportation and current auto insurance as required by the State of Texas; Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
some of the essential job responsibilities include: Providing family violence and sexual assault education in Walker, Polk, San Jacinto and Trinity counties using different mediums such as presentations, community networking, and public awareness campaigns; developing printed materials to promote awareness (presentations, newsletters, handouts, brochures, etc.) of family violence and sexual abuse issues including special focus months and community events;  and working with other community agencies to develop and implement comprehensive wide services for victims of sexual abuse and/or family violence, maintain regular communication and regular interactions with law enforcement agency, local hospitals, and District Attorney’s office interacting as agency liaison.

BAAMP Camp

Abigail’s Arms in Cooke County is holding a BAAMP Camp August 13-15. Children ages 6-13 can experience end of the summer fun in a rustic ranch setting. Click, Tweet, and Support Domestic Violence Survivors: The Allstate Foundation and YWCA join together to raise awareness of domestic violence

Northbrook, IL (PRWEB) July 7, 2010 — Helping domestic violence survivors just became as easy as sending a tweet to your friends and family. The Allstate Foundation and the national YWCA have joined together to help end domestic violence through the #Tweet4YWCA campaign.

Beginning July 7, The Allstate Foundation is donating $1 to the YWCA for every tweet that includes #Tweet4YWCA, up to $75,000. The tweet-a-thon will run from July 7-16.

Additionally, Allstate Foundation’s website, www.ClickToEmpower.org , will feature a leader board, live streaming tweets, and a real time calculator of how much has been donated during the campaign.
