			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>September 1 -2, 2009 </strong></p>
<p>The Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) Annual New Workers’ Institute (NWI) is a training opportunity for professionals working with victims of family violence to gather information about current trends and methods of working with victims and new initiatives; share ideas and network with victim advocates, program coordinators and other professionals working in closely related systems for the purpose of increasing victim safety. The conference convenes professionals from across Texas and is the only conference in the state with this focus.</p>
<p>NWI is a two-day training for professionals new to the family violence field across Texas including victim advocates, program coordinators and other professionals  working in closely related systems for the purpose of increasing victim safety.<br />

A continental breakfast and lunch and light refreshments will be provided each day.</p>

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m.<br />
Training activities start at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Prevention Team has prepared a new webinar focused on Evaluating Prevention. It will be conducted by speaker Pippin Whitaker, MSW, a DELTA Empowerment Evaluator from the College of Social Work at the University of South Florida.</p>
<p>The webinar will strive to address the unique challenges of evaluating prevention efforts. Topics will include setting short-term and long-term goals for change at individual and community levels, how to plan both outcome evaluation and process evaluation for your prevention work, identifying what to measure and how to measure  the processes and outcomes of prevention work, as well as how to involve community members in the evaluation process.</p>
<p>The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. CST. Because participation is limited to 30 individuals, participants are encouraged to  register early by sending an email to <a href="mailto:lwoodcock@tcfv.org">Lisa Woodcock</a>.</p>
