Paul Kivel, social justice educator, activist, and writer, has been an innovative leader and accomplished trainer and speaker on men’s issues, racism, challenges of youth, teen dating and family violence, raising boys to manhood, and the impact of class and power on daily life. His work gives people the understanding to become involved in social justice work and the tools to become more effective allies in community struggles to end oppression and injustice and to transform organizations and institutions.

Kivel is the author of numerous books and curricula, including Uprooting Racism, Men’s Work, Boys Will Be Men, and Helping Teens Stop Violence, Build Community and Stand for Justice. This four-hour workshop employs interactive learning for adults in creating cross-generational alliances to sustain community, nurture each individual, and create a multicultural society based on love, caring, justice, and interdependence with all living things. Participants will develop a framework and vocabulary to better work with young people in struggles for social justice by shifting a focus from a social service to a social change perspective.
